Adsorption Solar Air Conditioning System for Singapore Climate

The design of an adsorption solar air conditioning system is investigated by using a model with activated carbon–methanol working pair. This analysed the insolation levels and ambient temperatures Singapore. proposed mainly consists two tubular reactor heat exchangers (TRHEXs) operating out phase driven from evacuated tube collector (ETSC). pair TRHEXs act as thermal compressor contain about 2.275 kg carbon per reactor. (ETSC) has better performance more cost effective than flat plate (FPSC), even though it higher unit. On hottest day year, maximum cooling power 2.6 kW COP 0.43 at driving temperature 139 °C 9.8 m2 ETSC area. total estimated EUR 10,550 corresponding to SGD 14,800 7-year payback time. At similar capacities, expected be conventional beyond period 7 years, lifetime 15 20 years.
